Every day, Moving Blocks helps homeowners, renters, and
businesses experience their best possible moving experiences through the rental
of our industrial-strength plastic moving containers, dollies, and
wardrobes. By eliminating the hassle, cost, and waste associated with
traditional cardboard box-based moves, we have proven there is in
fact a better way to move and stand to revolutionize the way people
move in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
At
our two-year anniversary, we
decided to start showing our appreciation for the support we've received from the
community and extend help beyond moving to assist those in need experience their
best
possible lives. We call it the "Moving Blocks CARES4U™
Charity Program" and just as we've shown our
customers a better way to move, we hope to show those in
need - both people and animals - a better way to live.
How it Works
Rather than choosing one particular charity to support
going forward, Moving Blocks tries to feature a different charity each
quarter in order to help spread our help throughout the community. From monetary
donations to hands-on contributions, Moving Blocks will do what it can to help
the chosen charity. In fact, Moving Blocks at the least is
committed to contributing $5 from every order over $100 providing an automatic way for our customers to get involved too. We'll also
encourage our partners within the moving industry to get involved where
appropriate showing that this industry cares about its community.
Choosing Charities
At the beginning of each quarter, Moving Blocks staff
will jointly decide on the featured charity. Although we will certainly have
charities close to our hearts due to our own personal experiences and feelings,
we will strive to extend our help to different types of organizations over the
years ahead. If you are a charity interested in being considered, please don't
assume we're aware of you and do feel free to send us information at Suite #323 - 3495 Cambie Street, Vancouver, B.C.

Sample CARES4U Donations:

Forgotten Felines Cat
Shelter - As a group of animal lovers, the Moving Blocks
CARES4U program recently donated money along with cat beds, food,
toys, and towels to this true "no-kill" cat shelter located in Surrey,
B.C. With over 300 cats to take care of and new abandoned, stray, and
abused cats arriving regularly, the shelter is always in need of
resources as well as good homes to adopt cats of all ages.

Beyond our donation, we also wanted to help get the word out that cats
don't have to be put to sleep at "shelters" like the S.P.C.A.
Alternatives like Forgotten Felines exist providing cats with a chance
at life even if nobody adopts them. If you'd like to adopt a cat,
foster one, or simply donate your time or financial assistance, please
visit their Web site at:

The Mel Zajac Foundation With
your help, the Moving Blocks CARES4U program donated 10 computers this
quarter to this long-standing charity organization helping children,
seniors, and those with special needs within B.C.

Several of the
computers will be used in the new Internet Cafe at
The Zajac Ranch - a
retreat designed to improve the self esteem, confidence, and quality
of life for children with life-threatening illnesses. Additional
computers were set up at a
seniors home in North Vancouver and the
remaining systems were installed at the foundation's head office.
Big Brothers of
Greater Vancouver - In early February 2005, the Moving Blocks
CARES4U program donated 15 boxes of much-needed clothing, shoes,
books, and household items to the youth and families supported by Big
Brothers.

Money was put into holding a charity
fundraiser where each guest had to donate reusable items to gain
admission. At the end of the successful event, we ended up with stacks
of wonderful goods for others to use including numerous winter wear
pieces important during our colder winter months.
With October being
National Breast Cancer Awareness
Month, the Moving Blocks CARES4U program was pleased to donate a
3BR moving bundle with delivery and pick-up service to a silent
auction held in West Vancouver on October 22nd, 2005.
